Truly Yours… 07.18.2008

Some time ago I asked Kacy Jo, a talented photographer from Corvallis, to shot a few images of me. Usually, I am really not very crazy about pictures of myself, but these turned out pretty good. Thank you Kacy, you did very good job! The last night I got my hands on them and picked some of my favorites and edited them. This time I wanted play a little bit more and give them some of them kinda a old film vintage look. Check them out below. Let me know what do you think by leaving a comment below. I like to hear from you.

Have a nice weekend!

Unbelivable! 07.17.2008

I am using one of the best labs in the industry to fullfil my print orders for sure. Last night I submitted client’s order to lab and this morning I went online to check its status and was amazed that the order was completed and packaged at last night while we all were sleeping!

They must have some highly automated process there which means faster turnaround of orders. Really great!

Have a nice day!

Lowell: Portrait photo session 06.29.2008

I had an honor to photograph Lowell who is turning into his 90 these days. Family members gathered together at his house to celebrate his birthday and get some family pictures. It was suppose to be really hot day and we did it at early morning before it got too hot. I was able to find good lighting on his backyard and photograph some nice portraits. Check out a few of my favorite shots of Lowell. Doesn’t he look pretty good at his age?

Wow! Simply stunning. It’s so sad that 90% of couples that I know do not have anything even CLOSE as these! One thing that every couple should definitely invest when it comes to wedding planning is art album like this, because it’ll left lifetime.

Everything else they forget in a year or so.

Beautiful book. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled!

Zarie + Igor: Wedding 06.16.2008

I have photographed an amazing wedding of Zarie and Igor. They are very nice people and it was my pleasure working with them all day and creating great images. It was really hard to pick what to show here since there are so many great moments from that day! Olga Voronov (Madame des Fleurs) once again impressed me with her beautiful bridal bouquet. She is one of the best wedding vendors in our community providing quality service and products.

Zarie and Igor decided do not see each other before the ceremony. It was really important to capture their reaction when they saw each other for the first time. Igor was watching how Zaries was walking down the aisle accompanied with her father and his eyes were sparkling, showing how much he is happy to see her.

Big thanks to Kevin Meyers - my friend photographer who came to help me shooting that day.

Check out some of my favorites and leave a comment below. I want to hear from you.

Congratulations Zarie and Igor! Have a nice honeymoon!

Great shots, Alex. For your off camera lighting do have an assistant or let one of the guys hold the flash for you?

  • Ellen — June 17th, 2008 at 9:40 am

I love them all, but the black and white one 2nd to bottom is the best. I love how her arm is posed up on the garden arch. In some wedding photos the woman is made to look soft and pretty instead of strong. It’s like she’s saying - I OWN this gorgeous fairy tale wedding!

beautiful photos alex, always clean sharp and amazing!

Challenging myself… 06.11.2008

I wanted to do this project for quite long time. The idea is to go with your camera and shoot what you see and take creative shots. I think, it is important to get out of your comfort zone and do something different and see how it comes out. So, I picked only one lens, my favorite 85mm 1.8, and went out at lunch time to see what I can find interesting and just photograph things. It was rainy and cold and I was shooting for about an hour until I got cold. These are images I took in chronological order. Let me know what do you think in a comment box below. Thank you!

Have a nice day!

Tanya + Vitalik: Wedding 06.06.2008

I had a chance to photograph a beautiful wedding of Tanya and Vitalik last Sunday. Everything went really well. Olga Voronov (Madame des Fleurs) provided amazing flowers. Look at that bridal bouquet! She is one of our preferred vendors. Her wedding flowers are just excellent, every time!

Mariyana + Sergey: Engagement 05.28.2008

This memorial weekend I had a chance to photograph this amazing couple! Mariyana was coming from Alaska for a short stay and that was only one opportunity before it is too late to get some pretty pictures for their photo invitations which becoming more and more popular among my clients. We decided to do a night photo shoot to make it work with the formal dress Mariyana was about to wear for that occasion. I wanted to incorporate the city lights and create a theme of their night out in the city. I think, the images turned out pretty good. Check them out below and leave a comment. Thank you!

Have a nice day!

PS. All images are available in clients gallery now.

PS. Images were removed from blog per client request.
